JUSTICE LOST IN POLITICS
Blog
JUSTICE LOST IN POLITICS The Indian tricolour might rustle proudly against the wind when we destroy to win. Next to it, is the innocence and dignity paraded amidst politicised perception of “justice”. Reactions to child rape cases highlight how we turn a deaf ear to the stories, to the problems, to the status quo. Incidents like those happened in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh and Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir are heart-wrenching and show us the exploitative mindsets of the accused and arrested. In 2017-2018 period, national attention and sympathies were drawn towards two cases in particular - the Unnao rape case and the Kathua rape case. The former was of a 17 year old girl being raped by a Member of Legislative Assembly in Uttar Pradesh. She was abducted, gangraped and even…

She pulled down the pleats of her skirt, Trying to avoid every gaze For there was a different feeling A different me. I could walk, yet I was crippled I could see, yet I was blinded I could scream, yet I was silenced The only ray…
